YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documentation.
- Liaise with instructing attorneys and external counsel in relation to the Company's litigation and dispute resolution matters.
- Represent the Company before courts, tribunals, and other relevant legal authorities, where applicable.
- Conduct legal due diligence for business transactions and corporate matters.
- Manage and attend to the Company's intellectual property matters, including trademarks and related registrations.
- Conduct title examinations and attend to notarial matters, including liaising with Notaries Public and relevant Land Registries.
- Draft Board and Shareholder resolutions and liaise with the Company Secretaries on corporate and statutory matters.
- Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies on legal matters affecting the Company.
- Identify, assess and advise management on legal risks and recommend appropriate risk-mitigation measures.
YOU SHOULD:
- Attorney-at-Law with 8-10 years of relevant experience in a corporate legal environment and/or reputable law firm.
- Possession of a Notarial Licence, with the ability to practice in English and Sinhala within Colombo/Homagama jurisdictions.
- Registered as a Commissioner for Oaths.
- LLB and/or LL.M qualification would be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of labour law.
- Excellent command of English and Sinhala, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in standard computer applications and legal/document management systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
- A self-motivated and proactive professional with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and function effectively as part of a team.
